A Summerfield Summer: The Farm, the Lake, and the A&Y

A Summerfield Summer: The Farm, the Lake, and the A&Y

Summerfield does not have a downtown, and every long-time resident already knows it. What the town has instead is a triangle: a working farm on US-220, a quiet reservoir on the western edge, and a rail-trail that ties them together. Most summers, that geography is the plan. The 2026 calendar is unusually full, and a piece of local news from March is about to redraw one leg of the triangle for good.

If you have lived here more than a season, you have already picked your default corner. This is a look at what the other two are doing between now and Labor Day.

The farm as a calendar, not a destination

Summerfield Farms functions less like an attraction and more like the town's community events board. The 2026 summer slate is dense enough that most weekends offer a reason to drive out even if you have been a dozen times.
